The California Privacy Act & Its Effect on the US Privacy Landscape

This interactive session will focus on the California Consumer Privacy Act going into effect 01/01/2020, and any changes that occurred since its unanimous passing. The presenter will discuss: Key parts of GDPR and the NYDFS regulation; NISTS’s efforts for a Privacy Framework and what that entails; The current efforts toward a national federal privacy law; and Key parts from other international privacy laws. The presenter will identify how to comply with Article 25, Privacy by Design to achieve Privacy by Default and the NYDFS regulation. After the session, attendees will leave with the knowledges to think about and consider how to implement Compliance on Demand, and how Privacy by Design, encryption and key management, and automating data subjects’ rights fits into compliance on demand and combines to not only go far toward compliance, but also earn the trust of your customers, and differentiate your company from your competition.

About The Conference

Harvey Nusz, Manager, GDPR, Capgemini

Harvey has enabled companies to become compliant and secure in Sox, PCI-DSS, FISMA, HIPAA, NY Department of Financial Services CRR500 Cybersecurity Regulation, Privacy Shield, and now GDPR. Harvey is focusing now on privacy, compliance, and security, and has also developed competencies in auditing, risk management, governance, IT Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity, Identity Access Management and Access Certification, Security Architecture, and Project and Workstream Management. Some of Harvey’s previous employers/industries/clients include a wholesale grocery SMB, public accounting, both local and Big 4, Options Clearing Corp, ExxonMobil, JP Morgan Chase, and NASA. Harvey is a native Texan who has benefitted from living and working outside Texas for about 13 years, in Illinois, Wisconsin, Utah, and Nevada. He gives back to his profession by serving in leadership roles in Houston ISACA, Houston SIM, Houston IAPP, and previously in South Texas ISSA, AITP (Las Vegas and Houston), and ISACA in Milwaukee. He has his CIPM, CISSP, CRISC, CGEIT, and CISA.

Tony Belilovskiy, Director, International Institute for Customer-Centered Leadership

Tony Belilovskiy joined the C3 Excellence team following a very successful career in healthcare and business. His diverse expertise includes engineering in metallurgy, ballistics, licensed clinician, healthcare administration, auditor, healthcare consulting, and entrepreneurial business ownership. His experience ranges from clinical, healthcare administration, healthcare IT, contract administration and negotiations, financial analysis, business and people management, systems implementations and mergers, data analysis, data migration, medical claims analysis, college and university course development, and varied projects that come with owning your own management consulting business. Tony has expertise in areas of quality and leadership, culture change, project management and strategic planning. Tony holds both Bachelors in Cardiopulmonary Sciences and Masters in Healthcare Management and Administration from Northeastern University in Boston, MA; Associates Degree in Metallurgy from Odessa Polytechnic Institute in Odessa, Ukraine. He is a Registered Respiratory Therapist and Certified Professional Coder. In addition to all of the above, Tony is also an accomplished classical pianist. He resides in Sarasota, FL with his wife of over 20 years and 3 daughters.
